October 14, 2024 marks the opening of the Academic and Cultural Faculty Exchange Program 2024 between Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST) and the Suphan Buri College of Dramatic Arts, Thailand. The opening program was held at Nieto Hall, NEUST Sumacab Campus, Cabanatuan City.
The event aims to foster academic and cultural collaboration between the two institutions. With the theme โConnecting Cultures and Wisdom: A Voyage of Learning and Harmony,โ the program set the stage for a series of activities designed to strengthen academic ties and promote cross-cultural understanding.
Atty. Eric G. Claudio, Director of International Affairs at NEUST, welcomed the attendees, setting the tone for a meaningful academic partnership.
Dr. Feliciana P. Jacoba, Vice President for Academic Affairs, discussed the purpose of the exchange, emphasizing the importance of intercultural learning and the significance of collaboration between the two academic institutions.
A cultural intermission showcased the talents of the NEUST Folkloric Society, who performed traditional Filipino dances, highlighting the richness of Philippine culture.
Moreover, Dr. Rhodora R. Jugo, NEUST President, followed with a message that reinforced the universityโs commitment to fostering academic excellence through cultural exchange.
Mr. Navee Sasongkroh, Visiting Professor and Associate Director of the Suphan Buri College of Dramatic Arts, delivered a response, reflecting on the importance of Thailandโs involvement in the exchange and expressing gratitude for the collaboration. With the help of International Cross-cultural Exchange and Professional Development – Thailand, ICEPD- Thailand, this faculty exchange program is set for two weeks.
The program facilitates the exchange of knowledge, teaching practices, and research between faculty members of both institutions. Through bridging academic and cultural divides, the event provided a platform for educators from NEUST to gain deeper insights into each otherโs educational systems and cultural heritage. The exchange strengthens the ties between the Philippines and Thailand, contributing to the development of a globally aware academic community.
