The NEUST College of Management and Business Technology (CMBT) marked another milestone as its Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM) students secured the Silver Plaque of Excellence in the 2nd EdukCircle Travel Vlogging Competition. This achievement was presented during the 21st EdukCircle International Convention on Tourism and Hospitality, held on October 12, 2024, at the GT Toyota Asian Center Auditorium, University of the Philippines, Diliman, Quezon City.
The winning travel vlog was hosted by Mr. Ron Vincent Talplacido and edited by Mr. Prince Russell P. Pablo and Mr. Isagani Rae Adriano, all of whom are 4th-year BSHM students. The script was written by Mr. Talplacido.
The team was mentored by Dr. Khriz N. Fernandez, Dr. Mercedes Santos, and Mr. John Paolo Nagaรฑo, faculty members of the Hospitality Management Department. Their success was further supported by the unwavering guidance of Dr. Sarah C. Alvarez, Dean of CMBT, and Dr. Ma. Cecilia P. Reyes, Area Chairperson of Hospitality Management.
The panel of judges for the EdukCircle 2nd Travel Vlogging Competition included renowned TV personalities: Ms. Susan Enriquez, Mr. Mark Salazar, Mr. Branden Milla, Ms. Love Aรฑover, and Ms. Portia Carbonel. The competition showcases students’ creativity, storytelling abilities, and video production skills.
EdukCircle, a Philippine-based organization, bridges academic learning with professional media practice through conferences, seminars, and competitions. It is widely known for its EdukCircle Awards, which celebrate excellence in media, communication, and related fields.
This achievement not only highlights the talents of NEUST students but also affirms the university’s commitment to fostering holistic development.
