LOS BAÑOS, Laguna – To strengthen its academic and research capability, the Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST) has partnered with the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed today at the UPLB Campus.

Formalizing the partnership were Dr. Rhodora R. Jugo, NEUST President, and Dr. Jose V. Camacho, Jr., UPLB Chancellor, to underscore the shared commitment of both institutions to advance academic and research initiatives.

According to President Jugo, both institutions have unique identities but share a common vision to enhance the quality of life for Filipinos.

“Our partnership with UPLB symbolizes the synergy that emerges from institutions coming together to innovate, lead, and inspire—qualities that will undoubtedly elevate the outcomes of our partnership and initiatives,” said the NEUST President.

The MOU outlines several collaborative activities, including the exchange of faculty and researchers, student exchange programs, and the conduct of joint research and extension projects.

The five-year partnership also includes provisions for symposia, capacity-building programs, and exchange of academic materials and information that aim to strengthen the academic and research capabilities of both institutions while promoting mutual respect for institutional autonomy and compliance with the laws and policies of the Philippines.

Other NEUST key officials including Dr. Nancy Joy Mangansat, Director, Curriculum Development and Evaluation; Dr. Kenneth L. Armas, Director, Planning and Development Office; Dr. Marilene Hipolito, Director, Research Services Department; and Ms. Shiela Rose Morales, were also present to witness the MOU signing.
