CABANATUAN CITY – The Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST) and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)–Nueva Ecija solidified their partnership in fostering entrepreneurial growth and sustainable development by signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) at NEUST Sumacab Campus on January 15, 2025.

The partnership, facilitated by the College of Management and Business Technology (CMBT), aims to integrate DTI’s entrepreneurship programs into NEUST’s curriculum, conduct workshops and seminars on business development, and implement community projects designed to promote economic growth and sustainability. 

Dr. Rhodora R. Jugo, University President, expressed optimism about the enhanced collaboration, emphasizing its potential to equip students and local communities with essential skills and opportunities to drive development in Nueva Ecija.

The President also mentioned the strong partnership between NEUST and DTI-Nueva Ecija, commending the latter’s active role in University programs, particularly those under the CMBT headed by its dean, Dr. Sarah Alvarez.

Meanwhile, Dr. Richard V. Simangan, DTI-Nueva Ecija OIC-Assistant Regional Director and Concurrent Provincial Director, also affirmed the importance of this partnership and reiterated DTI’s support for NEUST’s initiatives and the shared vision of both institutions in empowering the community through entrepreneurship and innovation. 

Present during the MOA signing were Atty. Bembol Castillo, NEUST Legal Officer and Vice President for Administration, Business, and Finance, and Debbyriza T. Hidalgo, DTI-Nueva Ecija Trade Industry Development Specialist, as well as the CMBT program chairs, faculty members, and the NEUST Business and Entrepreneurship Society.
