To enhance the research skills of faculty members from the design thinking process to the application of different research approaches, the Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology-Research Services Department (NEUST-RSD) conducted a three-day Research Mentoring Program at Ortiz Hall, NEUST Sumacab Campus, from January 7 to 9, 2025.

The program aimed to equip the faculty members from various NEUST campuses and departments with practical tools for planning, conducting, and refining research projects to meet institutional goals.

The first day introduced foundational topics, including the Design Thinking Process for identifying research problems, strategies for conducting patent searches, and methods for reviewing and synthesizing literature. These topics were presented by Dr. Marilene C. Hipolito, University Research Director, along with faculty researchers Engr. Emmanuel Borre and Dr. Allen Paul L. Esteban.

On the second day, Dr. Nancy Joy N. Mangansat, Dr. Mark C. Ancheta, and Dr. Vilma B. Ramos served as resource speakers. They discussed various research designs, statistical data treatment, and the process of preparing a line-item budget.
The seminar concluded on the third day with the presentation of participants’ outputs, showcasing their ability to apply the knowledge gained and demonstrating their preparedness for future research endeavors.

Through this initiative, NEUST reinforced its commitment to promoting research and academic excellence by developing innovative and impactful research projects that contribute to institutional and societal progress.
