The Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST) has signed a tripartite agreement with the Department of Education (DepEd) Schools Division Office of Nueva Ecija and the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Nampicuan for the establishment of NEUST Nampicuan Campus
NEUST President Dr. Rhodora Jugo, Nampicuan Mayor Victor Badar, and DepEd Nueva Ecija Division Superintendent Dr. Ronaldo Pozon formalized the partnership through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signed on January 27, 2025, at the President’s Conference Room, NEUST Sumacab Campus. This initiative aims to expand higher education opportunities in the municipality.
Dr. Jugo emphasized the importance of the new campus in bringing quality tertiary education closer to the people of Nampicuan. “The establishment of the Nampicuan Campus is a great help to the community. Hopefully, by the first semester of A.Y. 2025-2026, we can begin offering at least one program in Nampicuan,” she stated. “Our initial plan is to offer the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) program.”
To support the initiative, DepEd Nueva Ecija has committed to providing temporary classrooms at Nampicuan National High School. “If we cannot bring the students to the school, we will bring the school to the students,” Dr. Pozon affirmed.
Meanwhile, Mayor Badar extended his gratitude to NEUST and DepEd for their efforts in making higher education more accessible to the residents of Nampicuan. He also assured that the LGU would allocate a permanent site for the future facilities of the NEUST Nampicuan Campus.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by key officials, including NEUST Vice President for Academic Affairs Engr. Feliciana P. Jacoba, EdD; Nampicuan National High School Principal Froilan M. Silao; and Nampicuan Vice Mayor Remedios Badar.
