NEUST-CMBT strengthens global ties through academic exchange programs in Indonesia

The Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST) College of Management and Business Technology (CMBT) conducted academic visits and exchange programs with three universities in Indonesia from January 18 to March 6, 2025, as part of its internationalization initiatives.

NEUST-CMBT collaborated with Universitas Muhammadiyah Kendari in Sulawesi and Universitas Brawijaya in Malang for Visiting Professor, Faculty and Student Exchange Programs, and Research Collaboration, fostering academic insights, student and faculty mobility, guest lectures, research projects, cultural immersion, and industry exposure.

Representing NEUST at Universitas Muhammadiyah Kendari, Dr. Reynante Blas, Head of the Entrepreneurship Program, and Dr. Renato Virola, Faculty of Business Administration, participated from January 18 to February 1, 2025, alongside eight BS Business Administration and BS Entrepreneurship students—Mickaela Guevarra, Kyla Mariz Vargas, Charlene Joyce Lim, Carla Joy Vicvic, John Ivan Chua, Jhon Mark Pangilinan, Jette Margareth De Guzman, and Adrian Nomarzon Obedoza—who joined the exchange program from January 18 to February 15, 2025.

For academic exchanges at Universitas Brawijaya, the NEUST delegation included Atty. Eric Claudio, Director of the Office of International Affairs; Dr. Sarah Alvarez, Dean of CMBT; and Dr. Alma Pia Reyes, Focal Person for Internationalization of CMBT, who participated from February 8 to 12, 2025, while Dr. Ma. Cecilia Reyes, Head of the Hospitality Management Program, and Dr. Mark Alvin Abad, Faculty of the Tourism Management Program, stayed from February 8 to 22, 2025, alongside four BS Hospitality Management and BS Tourism Management students—Micaela Sagnit, Sarah Jane Cruz, Franclen Adrineda, and Francis Matthew Santos—who immersed themselves in academic and cultural experiences from February 8 to March 6, 2025.

The NEUST delegation at Universitas Brawijaya also conducted an academic and benchmarking visit on February 10, 2025, at Institut Teknologi Dan Bisnis Asia in Malang, a longstanding partner of NEUST-CMBT in international collaborations.

These academic engagements provided students with exposure to Indonesia’s educational system and cultural environment while fostering faculty and research collaborations, with the exchange programs designed to expand research opportunities and strengthen cross-border educational partnerships.

NEUST remains committed to global academic collaboration by fostering international partnerships that enhance the learning experiences of students and faculty while promoting knowledge exchange, best practices, and academic excellence on a global scale.
