In observance of Proclamation No. 115-A s. 1996, which declares March as Fire Prevention Month, the Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST) Planning and Development Office (PDO), in collaboration with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), organized a Fire Prevention Program on March 20, 2025, at the NEUST Sumacab Campus, Mini Convention Center.
With the theme โSa pag-iwas sa sunog, hindi ka nag-iisa!โ the event featured lectures on fire safety and prevention led by FCINSP Steven Rex Rosales of BFP Nueva Ecija and SFO1 Leo-Marco Aliman of BFP Cabanatuan City Fire Station (CCFS).
The discussions covered the causes, characteristics, and classifications of fire; appropriate extinguishing methods, fire prevention strategies, and emergency response protocols.
Dr. Rosemarie Casimiro, Dean of the College of Public Administration and Disaster Management (CPADM), emphasized the importance of fire safety awareness, stating, โPag tayo ay may kaalaman, mayroon rin po tayong kahandaan, at pag handa po tayo, tayo po ay maliligtas.โ
FCINSP Steven Rex Rosales expressed his gratitude to the participants and underscored the significance of fire safety, saying, โFire safety is everybodyโs concern. Yung mga simpleng kaalaman nyan ay talagang magsasagip ng buhay.โ
FO2 Erickson Domingo and FO3 Anthony Johnson Domdom conducted the fire safety lecture, providing insights on fire risks, proper extinguishing methods, and preventive measures.
The program also included a fire extinguishing drill, where NEUST faculty and staff practiced fire suppression techniques under the guidance of BFP personnel.
NEUST key officials, faculty, and staff participated in the event.
This initiative aligns with NEUSTโs commitment to disaster preparedness and community safety through education and strategic partnerships.
