The NEUST San Isidro Campus (SIC) was hailed as the champion in the first-ever Pagtárok competition held today, March 25, 2025, at the University Grandstand, NEUST Sumacab Campus.
Following SIC in the rankings were the College of Engineering (COE) and the College of Education (COED), securing 2nd and 3rd place, respectively, among the 12 participating teams.
Meanwhile, the Non-Teaching Personnel Association, Inc. (NTPAI) was recognized as the Most Organized and Most Cooperative group, while Atate Campus received the Most Disciplined Award.
NEUST President Dr. Rhodora Jugo expressed her pride in how the Pagtárok competition reflected the University’s resilience, stating, “Ito ay pagtugon sa mga hamon na pinagdadaanan ng ating pamantasan, ng ating kagalingan sa pag-surpass ng challenges na iyon, at pangatlo, pinaninindigan natin na tayo ay magaling.”
Moreover, Engr. Feliciana Jacoba extended her gratitude to all participants, saying, “Saludo po ako sa inyong pagpupunyagi at sana ay patuloy tayong manalangin para sa patuloy na pagyabong ng ating minamahal na pamantasan. Sana po ay manatili tayong ligtas sa pagdiriwang ng araw na ito.”
Dr. Rommel V. Espejo, Director of the NEUST Institute of Language and Linguistics (IOLL), emphasized the significance of the Pagtárok competition in celebrating the University’s anniversary.
“Sa konteksto ng NEUST, ang Pagtárok ay nagsisilbing metaporikal na paglalakbay ng unibersidad sa patuloy na pagkatuto at pag-unlad. Ang Pagtárok ay sumasalamin sa pagkakaisa, pagkamalikhain, at patuloy na pagsulong ng Pamantasan tungo sa pandaigdigang tagumpay,” said Dr. Espejo.
Other participating groups included the College of Criminology (COC), College of Industrial Technology (CIT), College of Management and Business Technology (CMBT), College of Information and Communications Technology (CICT), College of Architecture (CoArch), Gabaldon Campus, and Fort Magsaysay Campus.
The panel of judges included local tourism officers of Nueva Ecija– Darmo Escuadro, Tourism Officer of the City Government of San Jose City; Emisonia Gante, Tourism Officer of LGU Pantabangan; Rhea Leyva, Tourism Officer of LGU Guimba; Alejandro Galindez Jr., Tourism Officer of LGU Llanera; and Jan Mara San Pedro, Acting Provincial Tourism Officer of Nueva Ecija.
