NEWS | Future Leaders on Display: LHS students impress at Trade Fair and Research Expo

The Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST) Laboratory High School (LHS) students showcased their creativity and innovation in the Annual Trade Fair and Research Capstone Exhibit held from March 31 to April 2–4, 2025, at the NEUST Gen. Tinio Campus, Cabanatuan City.

Twelve (12) groups from the Accountancy, Business, and Management (ABM) strand of LHS Senior High School (SHS) joined the trade fair by hosting various food stalls that offered a range of snacks and beverages.

The hands-on experience allowed the SHS students to apply their business knowledge in real-world scenarios, covering everything from food preparation and marketing to customer service and financial management.

Meanwhile, seven (7) groups from the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) strand presented their research capstone projects, focusing on relevant issues such as sustainable energy, environmental solutions, and technological innovations that aim to address real-life challenges.

In her message, University President Dr. Rhodora Jugo emphasized the importance of early exposure to research and innovation.

“Good thing that as early as now, you know the value of research, and this is a very good platform to showcase your products. This is the product of your creativity and innovative thinking. I just want to congratulate you—continue to shine, continue to innovate, we are with you all the way,” said Dr. Jugo.

The event was also attended by NEUST key officials, including Dr. Jean Guillasper, Vice President for Research, Extension, and Training (VPRET), and Dr. Maria Fe Blas, LHS Principal, who both expressed pride in the students’ achievements and encouraged them to keep pursuing excellence.
