Reaffirming its commitment to research excellence and technology commercialization, the Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST) has once again proven its growing leadership in the field of innovation and intellectual property by clinching the coveted Gold Award at the 2025 ITSO Presidents’ Summit and General Assembly, held on April 10, 2025, at the Sequoia Hotel, Manila Bay, Parañaque City.
With the theme “Empowering ITSOs Towards Global Recognition of Innovation Breakthroughs,” the summit gathered top-performing Innovation and Technology Support Offices (ITSOs) from across the country to honor outstanding achievements in advancing innovation and IP creation.
NEUST’s promotion from last year’s Silver to this year’s Gold underscores its strong momentum and growing impact in the innovation landscape.
NEUST’s award-winning performance highlighted its extensive efforts over the past year, which included 12 batches of the Foundation Course on Intellectual Property (ChaTBIZ), 2 batches of Patent Search Training, and 1 batch of Patent Drafting.
These initiatives contributed to the filing of 4 patents, 7 utility models, 7 industrial designs, and 6 copyrights, with 3 granted IPRs, totaling 24 intellectual property filings.
On behalf of University President Dr. Rhodora R. Jugo and Planning and Development Director and ITSO Manager Dr. Kenneth Armas, the award was received by Dr. Jean N. Guillasper, Vice President for Research, Extension and Training; Dr. Edgelly G. Vitug, Head of the Innovation Management Office; and Engr. Emmanuel Borre, Project Manager of DOST-NEUST TBI and IP Specialist.
