Five academic programs at the Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST) are currently undergoing their first survey visit for accreditation by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP), Inc., which officially began today, April 21, 2025, through a hybrid opening program.
The programs under review include the Doctor of Philosophy in Science Education and Bachelor of Public Administration Major in Disaster Management in Sumacab Campus, the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Major in Marketing Management and Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in English in Papaya Off-Campus, and the Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship in San Antonio Off-Campus.
In her message, NEUST President Dr. Rhodora Jugo emphasized the university’s commitment to providing the highest quality education, research, and extension services. “Our commitment [to excellence] is deeply rooted in our desire to offer the best quality of education, research, and extension servicesโit is the responsibility of the university to the community we serve. This vow to accreditation is guided by faith, grounded in truth, and driven by our shared hope for a better and brighter NEUST,” she stated.
Dr. Genelita Hernandez, Overall Coordinator of AACCUP Accreditors for NEUST, emphasized the role of the accrediting team in ensuring a fair and transparent evaluation process. โWe will serve you and form an integral part in continuously creating a culture of excellence in your university,โ she affirmed.
The opening of the evaluation was led by Dr. Angelo Santos, Head of the Local and International Accreditation Unit of NEUST, who noted, “It is a celebration of our universityโs commitment to academic excellence. Today, we open our programs for evaluation with full transparency, integrity, and a spirit of continuous improvement.”
This formal survey visit is part of the accreditation process to assess whether the programs meet the required standards to earn Level I Accreditation for three years.
The assessment includes a thorough review of various areas such as the faculty profile, curriculum and instruction, student support services, research and extension, physical facilities, and administrative support, among others, and will conclude on Friday, April 25, 2025.
