NEUST earns DBM accolades for ‘high quality tertiary education’
The Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST) received recognitions from the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Region III for its ‘contributions to the advancement of relevant and high-quality tertiary education,’ during the FY 2024 Agency Performance Recognition (APR) Program held today in the City of San Fernando, Pampanga.
NEUST also bagged the award for the Highest Performance in the Percentage of Graduates (2 Years Prior) that are Employed for Fiscal Year 2024, “in recognition of the institution’s effective implementation of academic and career readiness programs, as well as its commitment to aligning higher education with labor market needs.”
University President Dr. Rhodora Jugo, together with Ms. Lorna Ejar, Budget Officer, and Dr. Kenneth Armas, Director of Planning and Development, received the awards that cement NEUST’s role as a leading institution in Central Luzon, consistently championing performance excellence, accountability, and inclusive progress in public higher education.
According to the DBM citation, NEUST “has played a vital role in fostering inclusive growth through its dedication in expanding access to higher education for poor but deserving students.”
“Its efforts have significantly contributed to the improvement of higher education research that promotes economic productivity and innovation, while its strong community engagement initiatives serve as a beacon of hope and progress in the nation’s pursuit of inclusive and sustainable development,” the citation reads.
In addition, the DBM also stated that “the outstanding graduate employability rate is a reflection of the institution’s contribution to national development and efficient use of public resources.”
With the theme “FY 2024 APR: Reviving up Commitments with Action,” the inaugural recognition program was organized by DBM Region III to celebrate the exceptional performance of SUCs in the Annual Agency Performance Review (AAPR).
