In pursuit of continuous institutional improvement and excellence in public service, the Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST), through its Performance Management Team, in partnership with the Civil Service Commission (CSC) conducted a two-day Strategic Performance Management System (SPMS) Workshop on June 26โ27, 2025, at the Mini Convention Center, Sumacab Campus.
The activity aimed to align individual performance with organizational objectives, promote accountability and transparency, and enhance the overall performance culture of the university.
Emphasizing the deeper value of everyday tasks in the academic setting, NEUST President Dr. Rhodora J. Jugo highlighted how performance systems go beyond compliance and contribute to institutional excellence.
โThe Strategic Performance Management System reminds us that our daily efforts are not just routine duties, but valuable contributions that deserve recognition, encourage growth, and inspire us to continually do better for our students and institution.,โ she said.
A highlight of the first day was the lecture by Maj. Eleanor Prado (RES) PA, Director II of the CSC Field Office โ Nueva Ecija, who discussed NEUSTโs SPMS structure, performance measurement, and the identification and presentation of Major Final Outputs (MFOs).
โAng SPMS ay hindi lang basta-basta performance evaluation โ ito ay isang structured system na tumutulong sa atin upang maging mas accountable at mas aligned sa goals ng ating ahensya. Itโs not just about compliance โ itโs about continuous improvement and results-based performance,โ she emphasized.
Day two featured interactive sessions aimed at deepening the participantsโ grasp of performance indicators and encouraging meaningful engagement across various campuses and academic units.
A second batch of the SPMS Workshop is scheduled for October 2025 to accommodate more personnel and further strengthen university-wide performance alignment.
