NEUST, TAU sign agreement to boost Teacher Education initiatives

The Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST) and Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) formalized a partnership through a virtual Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing on May 13, 2025, reinforcing their commitment to collaborative initiatives in instruction, research, and extension, with a focus on teacher education.

The agreement, signed by NEUST President Dr. Rhodora Jugo and TAU President Dr. Silverio Ramon Salunson, establishes cooperation in faculty and student exchanges, joint research and publications, curriculum development, and the sharing of best practices and academic resources.

The MOU also creates opportunities for potential collaborations in international programs, educational tourism, and cultural exchanges for both institutions.

Prior to the signing, officials from both universities met on May 2, 2025, at the NEUST Sumacab Campus to discuss strategies for enhancing licensure exam performance, exploring immersion and exchange programs, joint review initiatives, and curriculum alignment while emphasizing the importance of sustaining international engagements in the post-pandemic era.

NEUST’s delegation included Dr. Jo Neil Peria, Dean of the College of Education, along with faculty members Dr. Mary Jane Tomas, Dr. Donna De Guzman, Dr. Andrea Adigue, Dr. Analiza Tanghal, Dr. Rey Ilumin, Dr. Chris Francisco, Ethel Joy Sebastian, and Jade Hizon.

Representing TAU were Dr. Rene Nanit, Chairperson of the BECEd Department, alongside fellow department heads Dr. Arlene Tomas (BSEd), Dr. Cristopher Reyla (BTLEd), Prof. Analyn J. Alegado (BEEd), and Maila Guting, TAU’s Coordinator for External Linkages and International Affairs.
