In pursuit of continuous quality improvement and academic excellence, the Quality Assurance (QA) Office of the Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST) hosted a benchmarking activity with representatives from Pampanga State University (PSU) on June 25, 2025, at the Presidentโ€™s Conference Room, NEUST General Tinio Campus, Cabanatuan City.

The activity focused on Institutional Accreditation Area I: Governance and Management, providing PSU officials with a comprehensive overview of NEUSTโ€™s best practices in leadership, organizational structure, and administrative systems, aligned with AACCUP standards.

In her welcome message, NEUST Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Feliciana Jacoba, emphasized the significance of collaboration and knowledge-sharing among state universities and colleges (SUCs) to strengthen the quality and relevance of higher education in the country.

Key presentations were delivered by NEUST officials led by Dr. Analyn Gamit, Director of the Quality Assurance Office, who outlined NEUSTโ€™s internal QA framework and its alignment with accreditation requirements.

Meanwhile, Lorna Ejar, Budget Officer IV, shared insights on budgeting processes, financial management, and accountability measures; Dr. Rhea Lyn La Penia, Director of Production, discussed the universityโ€™s sustainability initiatives; and Dr. Sarah Alvarez, Dean of the College of Management and Business Technology, detailed the strategic planning process and institutional performance evaluation.

Also presenting were Niรฑo Alvarez of the QA Office and Rhandelle Santos of the Budget Office, who provided a walkthrough of documentation processes and evidence preparation specific to Area I.

NEUST also showcased its practices in stakeholder engagement, internal audit mechanisms, cybersecurity, and transparent policy implementation.

PSU delegates, led by Dr. Eddiebal Layco, Director of the Planning and Development Office, expressed appreciation for NEUSTโ€™s comprehensive presentations and affirmed that the benchmarking experience would significantly inform their own institutional accreditation initiatives.

The activity concluded with a reaffirmation of mutual support and a shared commitment to advancing quality and excellence in public higher education.
