NEUST faculty and staff, led by University President Dr. Rhodora Jugo, are taking part in the Association of State Colleges and Universities–Solid North (ASCU-SN) Midyear Culture and Athletics Sports Festival 2025, which officially opened today, July 15, at Benguet State University, La Trinidad, Benguet.

This year’s festival, anchored on the theme “Siged ASCU-SN: Celebrating Athleticism, Culture, and Unity,” gathers 25 State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) from Regions I, II, III, and the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR).

For the next three days, delegates will engage in various athletic and socio-cultural events, celebrating the shared spirit of regional collaboration.

Messages from notable leaders graced the opening program, including BSU President Dr. Kenneth Laruan, La Trinidad Mayor Roderick Awingan, and CHED Commissioner Dr. Desiderio Apag III, who recognized the enduring impact of SUCs on access and equity in education.

Meanwhile, CHED Chairperson and former ASCU-SN President Dr. Shirley Agrupis emphasized the role of this tradition in building unity, discipline, and cultural pride.

ASCU-SN President Dr. Silvero Ramon Salunson officially declared the opening of the 2025 Friendship Games, signaling not just the start of competitions but the continued celebration of camaraderie among SUCs in the North.
