In its continued commitment to participatory and transparent governance, the Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST) held the Public Presentation Forum for Private Sector Representative (PSR) nominees on July 30, 2025, at the Mini Convention Center, Sumacab Campus.
“This initiative reaffirms our dedication to fostering transparency, accountability, and inclusive decision-making,” said NEUST President Dr. Rhodora Jugo as she welcomed participants. “Our PSRs serve as a bridge between NEUST and the broader real-world environment, offering strategic insights that elevate institutional planning, policy formulation, and governance.”
The forum was conducted in accordance with Republic Act No. 8292 and CHED Memorandum Order No. 3, s. 2001, which mandates a merit-based and transparent selection process for private sector representatives to the university’s Board of Regents.
Two business leaders participated in the forum: Ms. Erlyn Manuel, owner of Mardricks Plastic Center, and Ms. Robina Barcelona, owner of Valevetek Company.
Both candidates articulated their commitment to supporting the university’s mission and institutional development and responded to questions from the selection panel, faculty, staff, students, and other stakeholders, expressing their shared intent to contribute meaningfully to NEUST’s growth and policy advancement.
The evaluation panel was composed of Angel Chene Arianne Alde, NEUST USG Vice President; Roy Mamaclay, Private Sector Representative; Dr. Kenneth Armas, NEUST Director for Planning and Development Office; and CHED Commissioner Dr. Ronald Adamat as the chair of the evaluation committee.
The forum concluded with one-on-one interviews between the nominees and various stakeholder representatives, further allowing for a comprehensive evaluation of each candidate’s qualifications, vision, and potential contributions to the university.
