The Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST) championed a free online review program for aspiring teachers as President Dr. Rhodora Jugo joined fellow leaders of State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) in the launch and ceremonial signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for Project T.A.L.A. (Talino, Alab, Lakas, Aruga): Guiding Light for Future Educators, held on September 4, 2025, at Hotel Seoul in Clark, Pampanga.
Project T.A.L.A. is an initiative of Commission on Higher Education Regional Office III (CHEDRO III) with support from the State Universities and Colleges Teachers and Educatorsβ Association (SUCTEA) Region 3, designed to establish a comprehensive, free online review program for aspiring teachers taking the Board Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (BLEPT).
Meanwhile, Dr. Jugo expressed her full support for the initiative and extended her gratitude to CHEDRO III and SUCTEA Central Luzon for their leadership.
βThis partnership is a historic step for true educational progress, which is achieved when institutions pool their strengths and work hand-in-hand for our students,β stated President Jugo.
βIt echoes our NEUST GLOBAL framework by building collaborative linkages and affirms our collective resolve to elevate teacher education standards across Nueva Ecija, Central Luzon, and the entire nation. NEUST stands in full commitment to the goals of CHEDRO III and Project TALA.”
She echoed the call of CHED Chairperson Dr. Shirley Agrupis, affirming that through this collaboration, βTogether, we will ACHIEVE.β
Dr. Lora Yusi, Regional Director of CHEDRO III, led the MOA signing, in collaboration with the Presidents of various SUCs and officials of SUCTEA Region 3.
In her address, Dr. Yusi commended the SUC Presidents and the SUCTEA Central Luzon Chapter for pioneering the first-of-its-kind project, which is poised to significantly elevate the quality of teacher education in the region.
She drew a powerful metaphor, comparing the academic leaders to stars (tala) that “do not shine by themselves but give light to others.”
Other NEUST officials present at the event were Dr. Jo Neil Peria, Dean of NEUST College of Education and Member of the Board of Trustees of SUCTEA Region 3; Dr. Andrea Adigue, representing the NEUST College of Education; Dr. Angelica Cortez, Chairperson of SUCTEA Region 3; and Dr. Analiza Tanghal, Secretary of SUCTEA Region 3.
