The NEUST Quality Assurance (QA) Office conducted an ASEAN University Network-Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) Accreditation Implementation and Self-Assessment Report (SAR) Training-Workshop to strengthen the university’s global competitiveness.
Held from September 9 to 12, 2025, at Rico Fajardo Hall, NEUST Sumacab Campus, the training also aims to enhance opportunities for students and faculty while advancing knowledge, innovation, and sustainable community development.
In her message, NEUST Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Feliciana Jacoba extended her gratitude to the faculty and administrators for their commitment to providing quality service.
“We are not working for the president, not for any other officials of the university. We are working for the whole university—and for ourselves,” she said.
Meanwhile, NEUST QA Director Dr. Analyn Gamit recalled the university’s milestones in quality assurance and underscored the importance of the 4-day AUN-QA Self-Assessment Report (SAR) writing training.
“The SAR is our story—it must be clear, accurate, well-referenced, and positively written to showcase the strengths of our programs,” she stressed.
This was followed by Dr. Angelo Santos, Head of Local and International Accreditation, who discussed the NEUST-AUN timeline and preparations needed to ensure successful compliance with accreditation requirements.
Leading the lecture proper, University AUN-QA focal person Dr. Kim Edward Santos, provided an in-depth discussion on SAR writing and the preparation of an executive summary– highlighting its importance in demonstrating institutional strengths, addressing areas for improvement, and ensuring alignment with AUN-QA accreditation standards.
The four-day training, attended by faculty members and department heads from various NEUST colleges, began with a face-to-face session on Day 1, continued with online sessions on Days 2 and 3, and concluded on Day 4 with output presentations.
