The Fourth Survey – Phase 2 Accreditation Visit of the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines, Inc. (AACCUP) at the Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST) officially commenced today, September 24, 2025, through a hybrid opening program held at the Rico Fajardo Hall, Sumacab Campus.
Four academic programs are undergoing evaluation for Level IV – Phase 2 Accreditation: the Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Bachelor of Science in Architecture, Bachelor of Science in Criminology, and the Doctor of Philosophy in Public Administration.
The opening ceremony gathered members of the Accreditation Task Force, NEUST’s Administrative Council, faculty, staff, and AACCUP accreditors, with Dr. Filemon Pamittan, Overall Coordinator for NEUST, and Dr. Ronnie Parica, Lead Accreditor for the Ph.D. in Public Administration, representing the accreditation team onsite.
In her welcome message, Dr. Feliciana Jacoba, NEUST Vice President for Academic Affairs, expressed her deep appreciation for the unwavering commitment and hard work of the accreditation task force, faculty, and support offices.
She also underscored the vital role of accreditors in the university’s continuous pursuit of excellence, stating, “[They] are our real allies in our quest for the continued improvement of our programs and in upholding the high standards of quality services we provide to our students and stakeholders.”
Meanwhile, Dr. Pamittan emphasized the value of accreditation in ensuring quality and relevance in higher education.
“This accreditation allows you to benchmark your programs against national standards. It provides an objective framework to ensure that the education you deliver is of the highest quality and responsive to the needs of all students and the society you serve,” he said.
Following the opening program, the accreditors conducted an initial on-site validation of the programs’ submitted reports and supporting documents.
Throughout the three-day visit, the AACCUP team will assess each program’s compliance with the recommendations from previous evaluations, examine narrative reports, and evaluate performance in key areas of accreditation such as instruction, research, extension, and institutional qualifications.
The accreditation process continues on September 25 with a series of virtual conferences, where accreditors will conduct in-depth discussions focusing on areas including the impact of extension projects, alignment with institutional research agendas, graduates’ employability, and international journal publications.
The Fourth Survey Visit will run until Friday, September 26, 2025.
