The Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST), through the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) and the College of Education (COED), welcomed four (4) student exchange participants from Universitas Maria Kudus (UMK), Indonesia, during a welcome program held today, October 8, 2025, at Nieto Hall, Sumacab Campus.

The program was part of NEUST’s ongoing efforts to promote international collaboration and cultural exchange, fostering opportunities for students to gain global perspectives and enhance their academic experiences.

In her welcome remarks, NEUST Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Feliciana Jacoba assured the visitors of NEUST’s warm hospitality and continuous support.

“Rest assured that our student bodies will take care of you. Do not hesitate to ask for help and assistance when needed. We are proud to sustain this valuable partnership, which we believe will deepen cultural appreciation and enrich the educational experiences of all our students,” she said.

Dr. Jacoba emphasized that this exchange program aims to enhance learning not only inside the classroom but also through meaningful cultural exchange and collaborative learning experiences.

“This program embodies our commitment to sustainable societal development within a global perspective by building bridges of knowledge and understanding,” she added.

In response, UMK Psychology student Aisha Najwa Syakira expressed her gratitude for the opportunity and shared her excitement.

“Being here at NEUST is more than just a chance to study abroad—it’s an opportunity to grow, learn from a new culture, and build friendships across borders. I am excited to embrace everything that NEUST and the Philippines have to offer.”

Joining Aisha are fellow UMK students Ma’rifatul Munawaroh (Psychology), Fitriani Rohmatunnisa, and Muallifatul Rohmah (English Education).

They will be conducting their practice teaching and final demonstrations at the NEUST Laboratory High School from October 8 to 28, 2025, before returning to Indonesia by the end of the month.

This student exchange activity is part of the long-standing partnership between NEUST and UMK, reflecting both institutions’ shared vision of promoting global collaboration, academic excellence, and cross-cultural understanding.
