To strengthen the foundation of academic research and scholarly writing, the NEUST Graduate School (GS) conducted a research proposal workshop and critiquing with an introduction to publication for Master of Arts in English students on October 25, 2025, at the Graduate School Building, NEUST Sumacab Campus.
In her message, Graduate School Dean Dr. Jocelyn Cruz reminded the participants that research is not merely an academic requirement but a meaningful journey of discovery and growth.
“This seminar is your first step toward becoming researchers who love what they do. After this, you will learn to love research,” Dr. Cruz emphasized.
The morning session was led by Dr. Celso Resueño Jr., Local and International Linkages Coordinator of the NEUST Graduate School, who discussed proposal writing and critiquing.
This was followed by Dr. Allen Paul Esteban, Chairperson of Research and Extension of the NEUST Graduate School, who presented the topic Introduction to Publication, with the aim of familiarizing researchers with the process of writing and submitting papers to reputable journals, encouraging them to contribute to the growing body of knowledge.
The workshop promoted research ethics, confidence, and professional growth by engaging participants in academic dialogue with experts.
Luis Gabriel Lapuz, MAE Student President, delivered the closing remarks on behalf of Dr. Sheryl Ann Narciso, stating, “As we conclude today’s Research Proposal Workshop and Critiquing with Introduction to Publication, let us take a moment to appreciate the depth of learning, reflection, and inspiration this activity has brought.”
