Six academic programs of the Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST) are currently undergoing a virtual accreditation visit conducted by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) from October 27 to 31, 2025.
The activity aims to evaluate the quality of instruction, research, extension, and administration of the university’s programs as part of NEUST’s continuing commitment to uphold academic excellence and institutional standards in higher education.
In her message, NEUST President Dr. Rhodora Jugo emphasized that the accreditation process is an important milestone for the university. “The accreditation visit for both Level I and Level II programs is not just a routine check-up. It serves as a powerful opportunity for reflection, growth, and a celebration of our relentless pursuit of excellence. Accreditation is part and parcel of the university’s mission – symbolizing our collective dedication, commitment to quality education, and shared vision to empower every learner who walks through our doors,” she said.
Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Feliciana Jacoba also highlighted the importance of the activity, stating, “NEUST considers accreditation as another significant activity that helps the university set and attain its institutional standards, thereby sustaining quality and excellence in serving its clientele.”
During the opening program, AACCUP Overall Coordinator Dr. Erlinda Jiz De Ortega presented an overview of the accreditation process, explaining its objectives, the criteria and levels of accreditation, how submitted documents will be evaluated, and the corresponding ratings to be achieved.
Under the direction of Atty. Eric Claudio, Director of Southern Campuses, three programs are undergoing their first survey visit: the Bachelor of Elementary Education and Bachelor of Science in Information Technology of NEUST Papaya Off-Campus, and the Bachelor of Elementary Education of NEUST San Antonio Off-Campus.
Meanwhile, under the supervision of Dr. Marlon Rufino, Director of Northern Campuses, three programs of NEUST Talavera Off-Campus – the Bachelor of Elementary Education, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, and Bachelor of Science in Information Technology – are undergoing a revisit of all areas for Level II accreditation.
The accreditation process is organized by the NEUST Quality Assurance Office, headed by Dr. Analyn Gamit, in coordination with the respective campus administrators and program chairs.
