The NEUST College of Management and Business Technology and Graduate School welcomed MBA faculty and students from Institut Teknologi dan Bisnis (ITB) Nobel for a benchmarking visit and management seminar held at Sumacab Campus on October 28โ29, 2025.
Dr. Feliciana Jacoba, Vice President for Academic Affairs, formally welcomed the ITB Nobel delegation and expressed NEUSTโs gratitude for their visit, acknowledging the time and effort invested.
She emphasized that the main goal was to strengthen the partnership through the MOU, highlighting NEUSTโs commitment to collaboration in faculty and student exchanges, joint research, academic seminars, and extension programs.
โThis Memorandum of Understanding marks our commitment to a meaningful partnership; NEUST is fully prepared to work with ITB Nobel in fostering exchanges, advancing research, and building academic programs that benefit both institutions,โ she said.
Engr. Honorato Panahon, PhD, former NEUST Vice President for Administration, Business, and Finance, led the management seminar on General Organizational Management, explaining that organizations exist to fulfill specific purposes and respond to external factors like politics and technology.
He noted that government agencies are created by law, while private institutions gain legitimacy through registration, and he highlighted the vital role of human resource management in hiring, training, and maintaining productivity.
Day one concluded with the formal signing of the MOU between NEUST and ITB Nobel, with Atty. Eric Claudio, PhD, Director of the Office of International Affairs, and Engr. Feliciana Jacoba, EdD, Vice President for Academic Affairs representing NEUST, and Dr. Ir. Badaruddin, S.T., M.M., Rector of ITB Nobel Indonesia, representing their institution.
The morning session of day two was held at Nieto Hall, where faculty and students from ITB Nobel participated in the CMBT Consumer Welfare Month Celebration.
The event aimed to teach best practices in risk management and disaster preparedness, with Ms. Teresita Evangelista, Trade Industry Specialist from the Department of Trade and Industry, discussing fair trade laws, consumer rights, and responsibilities.
Dr. Olive Chester Antonio, Dean of the College of Public Administration and Disaster Management at NEUST, presented on disaster risk management and safety for business, while Erlyn Manuel, owner of Madricks Plastic Center, shared insights on navigating uncertainty with her talk titled “A Business Ownerโs Guide to Risk.”
The afternoon session held at the COE audiovisual room was led by Dr. Arjhel Domingo, faculty of the Graduate School and College of Management and Business Technology, who discussed Management in the Disruption Era.
The event concluded with a tour of the Philippine Rice Research Institute (PhilRice) in Muรฑoz, Nueva Ecija.
