PALAYAN CITY – The Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST) participated in the launching of the Media Watch Network, a collective initiative aimed at strengthening collaboration against misinformation and disinformation across Nueva Ecija, held on November 27, 2025, at Sierra Madre Suites.

The initiative gathered representatives from various government and non-government organizations, television and radio stations, digital media groups, community-based information officers, social media advocates, church communities, local government units, academic institutions, civil society organizations, the Integrated Bar of the Philippines, the Philippine National Police, military personnel, and other key stakeholders.

According to Nueva Ecija Provincial Government Information Officer Mr. Nonoy Gubrin, the network was formed in response to the growing spread of fake news.

Through this platform, stakeholders will identify programs and areas of collaboration to address misinformation and disinformation, including conducting training, capacity-building activities, and public education initiatives.

The network also aims to tap experts from various fields to promote ethical and responsible information sharing, both in traditional media and across social media platforms.
