The NEUST Graduate School hosted the conduct of the General Education Association of the Philippines for Higher Education Institutions (GEAPHEI) Hybrid Annual General Assembly and Seminar on December 6, 2025, at NEUST Nieto Hall, Sumacab Campus.
Centered on the theme βInnovation Shield: Intellectual Property and Winning Pitches,β the event highlighted GEAPHEIβs dedication to advancing research, innovation, and academic leadership across member institutions in Central Luzon.
In her keynote message, NEUST President Dr. Rhodora Jugo highlighted the importance of safeguarding innovative work while staying grounded in institutional values.
βThe innovation shield is our framework, a protective yet enabling barrier built on institutional excellence that allows HEIs to innovate responsibly, engage partners, and address real-world problems without losing our mission and valuesβ she said.
The sessions featured two major discussions: βPropelling the HEIsβ Ecosystem through Institutional and External Innovation Shieldβ delivered by Dr. Jugo, and βInnovation Shield: Intellectual Property and Winning Pitchesβ presented by Dr. Emelie Ablaza, Head of the Intellectual Property Office at CLSU.
Both sessions emphasized the need for higher education institutions to adopt robust innovation strategies and strengthen intellectual property awareness.
The event was attended by graduate school students and key representatives from universities across Region III.
