The Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST) formalized an academic partnership with Sunchon National University (SCNU) of South Korea through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on December 17, 2025, at Nieto Hall, Sumacab Campus.

Initiated by the NEUST College of Education (COED), this agreement establishes cooperation between NEUST and SCNU through faculty and student exchanges, joint research initiatives, and academic and cultural collaborations.

In her message, NEUST President Dr. Rhodora Jugo noted that the partnership supports the university’s GLOBAL initiative, stating, “With you as our partner, we look forward to creating meaningful opportunities that elevate academic quality and foster sustained institutional and international growth.”

The two institutions discussed the implementation plans and the possibility of expanded collaborations in the future through a Memorandum of Agreement, including international teaching internships, credit transfer arrangements, and collaborative research in pedagogy.

NEUST and SCNU also identified potential collaboration in agricultural research, such as smart farming and sustainable agriculture, which are designed to support applied research and strengthen academic collaboration, with outcomes expected to contribute to capacity building in agricultural communities in Gabaldon and other areas of Nueva Ecija.

The MOU was signed by Dr. Jugo and Dr. Seo Kang-Seok, Dean of the Office of International Affairs and Education at SCNU, and witnessed by university officials, including Engr. Feliciana Jacoba, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Atty. Eric Claudio, Director of the Office of International Affairs and Southern Nueva Ecija Off-Campus; Dr. Jo Neil Peria, Dean of the College of Education; and other faculty and staff from both institutions.
