The Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST) has further expanded its international engagements following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Filipino Nursing Diaspora Network (FiND), an organization of Filipino nurses based in Sydney, Australia.

The MOU was formalized through an online conference held on February 9, 2026, and signed by NEUST President Dr. Rhodora Jugo and FiND President Dr. Jed Montayre, who was duly represented by FiND Executive Director Dr. Faustino Jerome Babate.

In her message, Dr. Jugo highlighted the vital role of Filipino nurses in global healthcare and expressed optimism that the collaboration would create meaningful opportunities for NEUST students and faculty.

β€œNursing has always been a profession of compassion, resilience, and service, and through this collaboration, we honor the remarkable contributions of our Filipino nursing professionals whose commitment uplifts lives and strengthens healthcare systems in many parts of the world,” Dr. Jugo said.

Meanwhile, Dr. Babate expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, noting its potential to strengthen connections between academic institutions in the Philippines and the Filipino nursing community abroad.

β€œThis collaboration reinforces our mission to bridge the Filipino Nursing Diaspora with Philippine institutions, ensuring that global experience [enhances] local capacity building. For NEUST, this will open pathways for meaningful international academic engagements,” he said.

Through this partnership, NEUST and FiND aim to collaborate on joint research initiatives, academic exchanges, and professional training programs that will benefit faculty, students, and other stakeholders from both institutions.
The agreement also paves the way for knowledge-sharing and best practices in nursing education and related fields.

Present during the signing ceremony were key officials from both organizations, including NEUST Vice President for Research, Extension, and Training Dr. Jean Guillasper; International Affairs Office Director Atty. Eric Claudio; College of Nursing Dean Dr. Zuzette Catabona; and Dr. Maria Mares, representative of Philippine nurses in Australia.

β€œAs your partner in this meaningful engagement, we aim to create a bridge that connects knowledge and experience for our students, allowing them to grow and learn from these opportunities as the next generation of globally competent and socially responsive professionals,” Dr. Jugo added.
