The Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST) officially began the construction of its new Student Hub Building at the Sumacab Campus with a groundbreaking ceremony and time capsule laying held today, February 12, 2026.

Leading the ceremony, NEUST President Dr. Rhodora Jugo emphasized that the facility will serve as more than just a physical space for students.

The proposed Student Hub is designed as a two-storey linear building composed of five interconnected sections dedicated to student affairs and services.

The facility will house the unified offices under the Office of Student Affairs and Services, a multi-purpose hall, student lounge, student publication center, and student concessionaire areas, among other student-centered spaces.

The ceremony was attended by key university officials, including Vice President for Business, Administration and Finance Atty. Bembol Castillo; Office of Student Affairs and Services Dean Dr. Ma. Lourdes Quijano; Infrastructure Development Office Director Engr. Allan Abenoja, Jr.; Moral Recovery and Spiritual Uplift Program Director, Dr. Elenita Paet; and University Student Government President, Mr. John Sebastian Mangilin.

The program also featured a prayer offering and blessing for the commencement of construction led by Rev. Fr. William Villaviza of St. Vincent Ferrer Parish.

With the groundbreaking of the Student Hub, NEUST takes another step toward enhancing its learning environment and fostering a vibrant, inclusive, and empowering space for its students.
