NEUST academic officials convened in preparation for the scheduled Level III accreditation visits of the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) in April and May 2026.
Held on February 16, 2026, at Rico Fajardo Hall, NEUST Sumacab Campus, the meeting served as an initial orientation, focused on discussing the readiness, preparations, and concerns of the nine (9) academic programs set for evaluation during the upcoming visits.
In line with this objective, discussions centered on identifying institutional strengths and addressing gaps through clear program narratives supported by complete documentary evidence, with emphasis on thorough documentation and coordinated preparation to ensure program readiness and continuous quality improvement.
Emphasizing the importance of compliance with accreditation standards, Engr. Feliciana Jacoba, Vice President for Academic Affairs, underscored the need for coordinated preparation across units.
βWe need to strengthen our facilities and support services to meet standards and better serve our students and community,β said Dr. Jacoba.
The meeting was spearheaded by the Quality Assurance Office through the Local and International Accreditation Unit, headed by Dr. Angelo Santos, which oversees the universityβs preparations for the accreditation visits.
As part of the scheduled evaluation, programs set for the April 2026 visit include the Master of Arts in Teaching major in Vocational-Technological Education of the Graduate School, the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology of the Atate Campus, the Bachelor of Secondary Education and Bachelor of Elementary Education of the Gabaldon Campus, and the Bachelor of Secondary Education of the San Isidro Campus.
Following the April visit, additional programs will undergo evaluation in May 2026, including the Bachelor of Elementary Education, Bachelor of Physical Education, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, and Bachelor of Science in Information Technology of the San Isidro Campus.
The Level III accreditation process of the AACCUP aims to assess and ensure the quality of academic programs in state universities and colleges nationwide.
Through these preparations, the university seeks to align its academic programs with established standards and strengthen its institutional quality assurance mechanisms.
