Researchers from the Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST) participated in the Annual Scientific Conference and 96th General Assembly of the National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP) held on March 13, 2026, at the Philippine International Convention Center.

The event gathered scholars, scientists, and researchers from various universities and research and development (R&D) institutions across the country, providing a platform for knowledge exchange, interdisciplinary collaboration, and strengthening partnerships in support of national research and innovation initiatives.

Leading the NEUST delegation was University President Dr. Rhodora Jugo, who joined fellow researchers in engaging with the broader academic and scientific community to discuss current developments in research, emerging priorities, and opportunities for collaboration among higher education and research institutions.

A highlight of the event was the oath-taking ceremony of new regular and associate members of the NRCP, where six (6) NEUST researchers were formally inducted as official members of the council.

Those who took their oath as regular members were Dr. Kenneth Armas, Director of the Planning and Development Office; Dr. Allen Paul Esteban, Chairperson of Research, Extension, and Training Services of the NEUST Graduate School; and Dr. Ruth Luciano, faculty member of the College of Information and Communications Technology (CICT).

Also inducted were University President Dr. Rhodora Jugo, together with Dr. Angelo Santos, Local and International Accreditation Unit Head, and Mr. Joel Alvarez, Document Control Coordinator and faculty member of the College of Education, as associate members of the council.

Their induction into the NRCP reflects recognition of their scholarly contributions and underscores the University’s continuing commitment to strengthening research capability, expanding academic linkages, and contributing to national development through innovation and scientific inquiry.
