The Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST) catered to ten (10) preschoolers from Cambridge Child Development Centre, Cabanatuan City, for an educational fieldwork activity held today, March 17, 2026.

Together with their guardians, the preschoolers explored simple machines through real-life examples during their visit to the University Museum.

The activity allowed the young learners to observe actual mechanical tools and equipment, while also giving them the opportunity to see historical artifacts preserved inside the museum.

The children also visited the College of Engineering laboratory, where they were introduced to modern machines with the guidance and assistance of Engr. Albert Tinio, a faculty member of the college.

The laboratory visit served as part of their learning activity on simple machines, helping them better understand the concepts they are currently studying in school.

Arch. Ofelia Martin-Bawan, University Museum Curator, emphasized the importance of exposing young learners to real-life learning environments, noting that the preschoolers are the youngest visitors accommodated by the University Museum so far.

“Malaking tulong ang ganitong activity dahil sa murang edad ay nakikita nila ang real examples ng simple machines na tinatalakay nila sa school, at nakakatulong din ito upang maiwasan ang sobrang exposure sa social media,” Arch. Martin-Bawan said.

Meanwhile, Cambridge Child Development Centre School Administrator Ms. Maribel Go shared that the visit to NEUST was chosen after searching for suitable places where the children could observe actual machines related to their lesson.

“Nag-search kami ng mga maaaring i-visit for simple machines, at nakita namin na mayroon sa NEUST na mga old machineries na ginagamit, kaya akma ito sa topic namin ngayon with the kids,” said Ms. Go.

Ms. Go also expressed the school’s interest in conducting another visit to the University in the future, this time with senior nursery students, to explore additional topics through similar educational fieldwork activities.
