The Third Survey Phase II Accreditation Visit of the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines, Inc. (AACCUP) at the Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST) officially commenced on April 13, 2026, through a hybrid opening program held at Wright Hall, Mini Convention Center, Sumacab Campus.

Five academic programs are undergoing evaluation for Level III Accreditation: the Master of Arts in Teaching Vocational Technological Education in Sumacab Campus; Bachelor of Science in Information Technology in Atate Campus; Bachelor of Elementary Education and Bachelor of Secondary Education in Gabaldon Campus; and the Bachelor of Secondary Education in San Isidro Campus.

The opening ceremony gathered members of the Accreditation Task Force, NEUST’s Administrative Council, the Quality Assurance Office led by Director Dr. Analyn Gamit, faculty, staff, and AACCUP accreditors, with Dr. Filemon Pamittan, Dr. Liza Lanuza-Quimson, and Dr. Randy Joy Ventayen, who represented the accreditation team onsite.

In her message, University President Dr. Rhodora Jugo emphasized that the survey visit reflects the university’s continuing efforts to ensure quality in instruction, governance, and public service.

“This survey visit is proof of our continued pursuit of quality. It assures our students, alumni, and partners that our programs meet established standards in teaching, learning, governance, and public service,” she said.

She also highlighted NEUST’s growing recognition both nationally and internationally, reaffirming the university’s commitment to delivering accessible and high-quality education and expressing confidence in its readiness for the accreditation process.

“Let this survey visit remind us that every classroom performance and every student’s success story contributes to our shared goal of strengthening NEUST as an institution grounded in excellence, integrity, and impact,” she added.

Meanwhile, Dr. Filemon Pamittan, Overall Coordinator for Cluster II, clarified that the purpose of the survey visit is not solely to assess compliance but to support institutional development through evaluation and feedback.

“As we gather here, we stand on the threshold of progress. The AACCUP survey visit is an opportunity for reflection, growth, and validation of your commitment to quality education and continuous improvement,” he said.

Dr. Pamittan will also assist in the onsite validation for Cluster I on behalf of Dr. Sanchez, who is participating online, covering the programs in the Sumacab and Atate Campuses.

The formal opening of the activity was led by Dr. Feliciana Jacoba, Vice President for Academic Affairs, who expressed confidence in the university’s preparedness for the evaluation.

“As we continue this process, we are ready to present our compliance and engage with our accreditors, who serve as partners in strengthening our programs and ensuring quality services for our students and stakeholders,” she stated.

Following the opening program, accreditors conducted initial on-site validation of submitted reports and supporting documents, while online accreditors facilitated program-specific evaluations through breakout sessions.

The three-day visit includes assessment of each program’s compliance with previous recommendations, review of narrative reports, and evaluation of key areas such as instruction, research, extension, linkages, library services, and institutional qualifications.

The accreditation process will continue through a series of virtual conferences and onsite visits until April 15, 2026, focusing on extension outcomes, research alignment, graduate employability, and international publication initiatives.
