NEUST joins the 54th ASEAN Founding Anniversary Celebration

As a way of fostering greater awareness of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), the Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology has included the singing of the ASEAN hymn and hoisting of the ASEAN flag during the 1st Flag Raising Ceremony of the month.

Much more importantly, the NEUST regularly celebrates the ASEAN month. This year, dated August 20, 2021, the University joined the 54th ASEAN Founding Anniversary celebration with its theme, “We care. We prepare. We prosper”. It was held virtually showing the different ASEAN country members, namely: Cambodia, Brunei, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and our very own country, PHILIPPINES.

The virtual ASEAN celebration started with meaningful prayers, followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem, and the parade of ASEAN flags. Then, the Director of the International and Domestic Institutional Linkages, Atty. Eric G. Claudio, gave his opening remarks, while the University President, Dr. Feliciana P. Jacoba, delivered her very informational and enlightening message. As a contribution of the NEUST’s international partner institutions, greetings and messages were also conveyed by them.

To energize the audience, some intermission numbers were virtually performed by the talented students from different colleges who are members of LCADC under the supervision of its Director, Dr. Maria Lourdes R. Quijano, the over-all in-charge of the event. The activity was concluded by Dr. Rhodora R. Jugo, Vice President for Academic Affairs
