NEUST will soon open a West Gate after a local company in Nueva Ecija donated a parcel of land to the University through a Deed of Donation signed at the Mini-Convention, NEUST Sumacab Campus, Cabanatuan City on July 12, 2023.

The Nueva Ecija 5M Realty Corporation donated over 2,160 square meters of land that will be used as an access road of the students from the western side of the NEUST Sumacab Campus.

The access road will be named after Mariano “Tong” Tecson, the patriarch of the owners of the corporation composed of Marvin Tecson, President; Marlon Tecson, Chairman; Mary Anne Benedicto, Director; Mary Dee Happy Iturralde, Secretary; and Mary Dee Princess Tecson, Treasurer. Mariano Tecson studied drafting at NEUST.

According to Marlon, BS in Civil Engineering graduate in 1997, the family decided to donate the land not only because NEUST is his and his father’s Alma Mater but also to provide direct access to students, faculty, and staff living at the back side of the University.

“We’ve seen that it will help a lot of people if we have access at the back or western part of NEUST,” said Marlon.

As an alumnus, Marlon encouraged the students and alumni of NEUST to help the school fulfill the mission and vision of their Alma Mater.

Meanwhile, Engr. Feliciana P. Jacoba, SUC President III, expressed her gratitude for the family’s act of generosity, acknowledging the transformative impact of the donation would have on the university.
