Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST) proudly stood among 14 institutions celebrated at the 26th Philippine Quality Award (PQA) Conferment Ceremony held at Malacaรฑang Palace last July 17, 2024. This esteemed award acknowledges NEUST’s Commitment to Quality Management.
Established through Republic Act (RA) No. 9013 in 2001, the PQA Program serves as a competitive benchmark encouraging public and private organizations to strive for excellence and achieve performance distinction.
Leading the universityโs delegation was President Dr. Rhodora R. Jugo, accompanied by Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Feliciana P. Jacoba, Planning and Development Director Dr. Kenneth L. Armas, Quality Assurance Director Dr. Analyn Gamit, Head of Local and International Accreditation Dr. Angelo Santos, Dean Arnold Dela Cruz, and Director Gerald Quijano.
In his keynote speech, Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin highlighted the significance of the award, stating, โThe conferment of this prestigious award demonstrates our collective commitment to upholding excellence in different fields and endeavorsโฆ May our entire workforce both from the public and private sectors leverage their skills to become globally competitive workers.โ He also encouraged the honorees to โsustain your best practices and, more importantly, to cascade these good practices to different organizations, institutions and agencies all over the countryโฆ You can be assured that this administration supports all programs and recognitions that rally behind the ideals of a Bagong Pilipinas.โ
The ceremony honored 14 organizations, including 10 educational institutions, two government agencies, and two private organizations. The awards were distributed in three categories: Recognition for Commitment to Quality Management, for organizations committed to quality management; Recognition for Proficiency in Quality Management, acknowledging significant progress in building sound processes; and Recognition for Mastery in Quality Management, recognizing organizations that demonstrate superior results in quality management and serve as role models.
