NEUST aligns RET agenda with global trends

To leverage the agenda of the Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST) toward global standards, the Office of the Vice President for Research, Extension, and Training (OVPRET) has organized a three-day activity dubbed “Recalibration of the RET Agenda into Global Perspective,” at Prime Asia Hotel, Angeles City, Pampanga on February 10-12, 2025.

NEUST President Rhodora R. Jugo discussed the issues and challenges of the University’s research, extension, and service based on the existing RET environment and through the BRIDGE consultation with NEUST community.

“As we cross the complexities of RET, it is clear that while challenges exist, so do opportunities for transformation and growth,” President Jugo said. “These are concerns that we really need to look on possible measures.”

“Addressing these barriers is not just a task for today, it is a commitment for the future. We are building a research and extension ecosystem, that is responsive, inclusive, and globally competitive,” she added.

“Success in research and extension is not measured by numbers alone, but by the impact we create. With a shared vision, collective action, and unwavering commitment to excellence, we can position NEUST as a leading institution in innovation and community development,” the President ended.

According to VPRET Dr. Jean Guillasper, through the emphasis on innovation, sustainability, and cross-border collaboration, this event provides the participants with a strategic platform to look into emerging trends, best practices, and global research frameworks.

Meanwhile, the three-day event will feature lectures and workshops from Dr. Julius Caesar Sicat, Regional Director, DOST Regional Office III, and Teddy Dizon, Public Health Policy and Research Manager.
