The NEUST College of Engineering (COE) students earned top distinctions in the 3rd Pambansang Samahan ng Inhenyero Mekanikal (PSIM) Luzon Regional Conference Mechanical Engineering Students Convention (LRC MESCON) 2025 held on March 27, 2025, at The Tent, Calamba, Laguna.
The Mechanical Engineering students secured victories across multiple competitions, including the Mecha Mind Quiz Bee, Machine Design, and On-the-Spot Photography.
The Mecha Mind Quiz Bee team, composed of Chester Lee Rivera, Joseph Raniel Fajardo, and Jann Cael Ortiz, clinched the championship under the mentorship of Engr. Jesmark Carpio and Engr. Jaymart Jose.
The Machine Design team, including Noah Bautista, Jackie Mudlong, Riznhel Jaz Baquiroza, Maureen Ordoñez, Marie June Palon, Kyle Azi Fronda, and Vince Allezter Jaranilla, earned first place, under the leadership of Engr. Nomer Sambrano and John Lord Dela Cruz.
Meanwhile, Genesis De Asis Eugenio Jr. secured the 2nd runner-up in the On-the-Spot Photography category.
Other participants included Marlon Cando Jr. in the CAD Challenge, Charles Kenneth Supena in the Chess Competition, and Karen Nanip in the Amateur Photography Contest.
Additionally, the PSIM NEUST Student Unit hosted the Poster Making Competition, led by committee head Buenafreda Corpuz with her members Rhoylene Aquino, Prince Romm Daniel Gonzales, James Matthew Vanne Guillermo, and Jamuel Samson.
The Poster Making Competition was judged by Engr. Nomer Sambrano, Engr. Mackenly Pernia, and Engr. Jesmark Carpio.
“Throughout these endeavors, the guidance and support of faculty members, coaches, and the initiative of PSIM officers were instrumental in helping the teams overcome obstacles and refine their skills,” said COE Dean Engr. Jeric Aduna.
He further expressed his admiration for their commitment, noting that their hard work and resilience not only brought pride to the institution but also strengthened their capabilities for future challenges.
