The Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST), through the Institute of Linguistics and Literature (IOLL) and Office of International Affairs, conducted the “ILADA Training Series: Mandarin Language and Cultural Immersion for Global Citizens” on October 8, 9, 15, 16, 22, 23, 29, and 30, 2025, at the NEUST Sumacab Campus.
The eight-session training program attended by 40 selected faculty members, staff, and students, and organized in collaboration with the Bulacan State University–Confucius Institute, aimed to promote global competence through foreign language acquisition and intercultural learning.
The program featured foundational Mandarin language components, including greetings, self-introductions, Pinyin, and vocabulary applications for daily and classroom interactions.
It also incorporated cultural immersion activities designed to introduce participants to Chinese philosophy, art, and traditions, fostering both communicative proficiency and intercultural understanding.
The Bulacan State University–Confucius Institute provided expertise through Prof. Yang Xin, an instructor and cultural specialist who delivered training aligned with international standards in Mandarin language education.
The closing ceremony, held on October 30, 2025, at the Rico Fajardo Hall, Sumacab Campus, was attended by representatives from Bulacan State University and the Confucius Institute, including Director Ge Hongli, Prof. Yang Xin, and Prof. Israel DC. Saguinsin, Head of the Global Partnership and Network Internationalization Office, together with Ms. Hazel Ann Dela Peña.
Dr. Feliciana Jacoba, NEUST Vice President for Academic Affairs, expressed her gratitude to the organizers, partners, and participants, emphasizing the value of continued collaboration in advancing NEUST’s internationalization initiatives.
Director Ge Hongli extended appreciation to NEUST and encouraged participants to pursue further language learning and cultural exchange opportunities, including HSK qualification programs and scholarships in China.
Meanwhile, Prof. Saguinsin reaffirmed Bulacan State University’s strengthened partnership with NEUST in expanding regional and international education collaborations.
