From April 21–24, 2026, Dr. Marivic Villegas, Director of the Extension Services Department, and Dr. Nancy Joy Mangansat, Director for Curriculum Development and Evaluation, participated in benchmarking and immersion activities with key academic and support units of UPLB, engaging with leadership and institutional development initiatives to strengthen research, extension, academic, and quality assurance systems at their respective institutions.

Dr. Villegas was immersed in the Research Management and Implementation and Public Service and Extension track, with assignments at the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Extension, Ugnayan ng Pahinungod, and the College of Public Affairs and Development.

Meanwhile, Dr. Mangansat was under the Academic track, assigned to the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Quality Assurance Office, and the College of Human Ecology.

During the presentation of consolidated learnings and re-entry plans on April 24, 2026, Dr. Mangansat shared key institutional insights and strategic learnings focused on integrated academic governance, embedded quality assurance systems, teaching-learning innovation, and coordinated institutional mechanisms that strengthen curriculum quality and institutional effectiveness.

Dr. Mangansat also outlined proposed institutional initiatives for NEUST, including enhanced program review systems, curriculum governance frameworks, and lifelong learning pathways, with exploratory directions toward microcredentials.

In her message of commitment, NEUST President Dr. Rhodora Jugo reaffirmed the University’s commitment to strengthening governance, enhancing quality assurance systems, and sustaining its partnership with UPLB.

Now in its third batch,  the fellowship program commenced on March 24 and will run until May 2026, gathering 23 fellows from higher education institutions nationwide.
