The Third Survey Accreditation Visit of the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines, Inc. (AACCUP) at the Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST) officially commenced today, May 4, 2026, through a hybrid opening program held at Rico Fajardo Hall, NEUST Sumacab Campus, and conducted via Zoom.
Four academic programs offered at NEUST San Isidro Campus are undergoing evaluation for Level III Accreditation: the Bachelor of Elementary Education; the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, major in Marketing Management; the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, major in Database Systems Technology and Web Systems Technology; and the Bachelor of Physical Education.
The opening ceremony gathered members of the Accreditation Task Force, NEUST’s Administrative Council, the Quality Assurance Office led by Director Dr. Analyn Gamit, faculty, staff, and AACCUP accreditors, with AACCUP Overall Accreditor Dr. Ronnie Parica, Associate Professor V from the University of Rizal System–Pililla Campus, and BEEd Program Team Leader Dr. Liza Lanuza-Quimson, Professor VI and Campus Executive Director of Pangasinan State University–Alaminos City Campus, who represented the accreditation team onsite.
In her message, University President Dr. Rhodora Jugo underscored the university’s sustained commitment to excellence and institutional quality through continuous accreditation efforts.
“Accreditation is part of the daily work and shapes how we teach, serve, and lead,” she emphasized as she presented the accomplishments of the university, including having the second-highest number of Level IV accredited programs among all state universities and colleges (SUCs) nationwide, as well as its significant improvements in research profile and growing international recognition.
Dr. Jugo further emphasized that accreditation standards are embedded in the university’s everyday practices.
“At NEUST, every day is an accreditation day because our standards are not only written in reports but are demonstrated through our daily actions. It is reflected in how we conduct our classes, assist our students, manage our records, and maintain our facilities,” she added.
Meanwhile, Dr. Ronnie Parica presented an overview of the accreditation process, explaining its objectives, criteria, levels, evaluation methods, and corresponding ratings.
“Accreditation is not merely a process of conformance with standards, but a meaningful affirmation of a culture rooted in quality assurance, reflecting practices in institutional and program development,” he said.
Dr. Parica also highlighted the university’s progress in embracing the accreditation process, noting how NEUST has significantly improved from its early years of applying for lower levels of accreditation.
The formal opening of the activity was led by Dr. Feliciana Jacoba, Vice President for Academic Affairs, who emphasized that the accreditation process ultimately benefits students, stakeholders, and partner institutions.
“We are gathered here to witness how NEUST San Isidro Campus embarks on another milestone. This is an opportunity to showcase the products of our hard work, dedication, and commitment to quality education,” she stated.
Following the opening program, on-site accreditors conducted on-site reports and supporting documents, while online accreditors facilitated program-specific evaluations through breakout sessions.
The accreditation visit includes assessing each program’s compliance with previous recommendations, reviewing narrative reports, and evaluating key areas.
A pre-evaluation of the program, initial validation of submitted documents, and an extension project at the Boy Scouts of the Philippines Nueva Ecija Council Training Center in Palayan City were conducted upon the accreditors’ arrival on Sunday, May 3, 2026.
The accreditation process will continue through a series of virtual conferences and on-site visits until May 5, 2026, focusing on curriculum and instruction, extension services, linkages and consortia, research, and faculty development.
