The Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology Quality Assurance Office, in collaboration with the Curriculum Development and Evaluation and College of Engineering, held a two-day seminar on Orientation-Workshop on Philippine Technological Council (PTC) Accreditation and Application on May 18–19, 2026, at the Rico Fajardo Hall, Sumacab Campus.

Attended by the College of Engineering faculty and staff, the seminar aimed to orient participants on the accreditation process and application requirements of the PTC, while providing guidance on key criteria and sharing best practices for compliance and continuous improvement.

In her message, Dr. Nancy Joy Mangansat, Director of the Curriculum Development and Evaluation, emphasized the significance of the activity, stating, β€œMore importantly, we look at this as a mechanism for our continuous improvement.”

Dr. Mangansat highlighted that the workshop would help participants examine engineering programs, revisit outcomes, improve systems, and ensure that graduates are prepared to meet professional and industry expectations.

The seminar proceeded with the discussion on PTC Accreditation and Application led by Dr. Luisito Lolong Lacatan, Assistant Director for Institutional and International Quality Assurance of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines.

The two-day discussion covered the Overview of PTC Accreditation Process, Key Evaluation and Best Practices, Requirements and Application Guidelines, and the intended learning outcomes for initial preparation toward Philippine Technological Council accreditation.

The intended learning outcomes focused on explaining accreditation requirements, policies, and Outcomes-Based Education principles, analyzing the alignment of curriculum, Program Educational Objectives, and Student Outcomes with PTC accreditation criteria, evaluating program documents and Continuous Quality Improvement practices, and developing preparation plans with required evidence and documentation for accreditation readiness.

The second day continued with the lecture proper, workshop activities, and an open forum between the speaker and participants to address concerns and clarify accreditation-related processes.

The activity concluded with a message from Dr. Analyn Gamit, Director of the Quality Assurance Office, who encouraged participants toward collaboration and commitment in achieving accreditation, stating, β€œSama-sama po natin gagawin yan at katulong po natin si Sir Luis sa pag-abot ng ating pangarap towards accreditation.”
