The Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST), represented by University President Dr. Rhodora Jugo, reaffirmed the University’s commitment to nation-building as it participated in the Artillery Regiment Multi-Sectoral Community Partners (MSCP) Meeting held on July 24, 2026, at the NEUST Function Hall, Sumacab Campus.

As a member of the Research, Innovation, and Self-Reliance Defense Posture Cluster, NEUST continues to support initiatives that foster collaboration between the academe and the Philippine Army.

Through its membership in the MSCP, the University contributes its expertise in research, innovation, capability development, and community engagement to help strengthen national resilience and sustainable development.

In her message, President Jugo expressed NEUST’s unwavering support for the goals of the Multi-Sectoral Community Partners Cluster, emphasizing that the University’s commitment extends beyond research, innovation, and self-reliance, highlighting its readiness to contribute in areas such as strategic planning, psychological and mental health support, environmental governance, and other collaborative initiatives that benefit both the military and the community.

Dr. Jugo likewise underscored the importance of working together as partners, recognizing that meaningful and lasting development is achieved through strong collaboration among government agencies, academic institutions, and community stakeholders.

Meanwhile, Brig. Gen. Hubert Acierto, Commander of the Artillery Regiment, conveyed his appreciation to all MSCP members for their support and significant contributions to the Philippine Army’s programs and initiatives.
Brig. Gen Acierto emphasized that the continued partnership between the military and its stakeholders plays a vital role in promoting peace, security, and community development.

For his part, Dr. Reynaldo Arimbuyutan, Focal Person of the Artillery Regiment MSCP, acknowledged NEUST’s valuable contributions, noting that the University offers far more than training programs.
Dr. Arimbuyutan cited NEUST’s strengths in research, technological innovation, and metal innovation, expressing optimism over the growing partnership between the University and the Philippine Army.

The meeting also welcomed new MSCP members, reviewed previous accomplishments, and reinforced collaborative strategies that advance innovation, self-reliance, and sustainable partnerships in support of national development.

Following the meeting, representatives of the Philippine Army toured the NEUST Metal Innovation Center, where they were introduced to the University’s advanced metal fabrication, research, and innovation initiatives.

The visit was facilitated by Engr. Nathaniel Oliveros, who presented the Center’s capabilities and showcased how NEUST’s technologies and expertise can further support the Philippine Army’s modernization efforts, self-reliance programs, and future collaborative projects.
