UP BGC, Taguig City | August 7, 2026 — NEUST President Dr. Rhodora R. Jugo, together with Dr. Nancy Joy Mangansat, Dr. Kenneth Armas, and Dr. Vilma Ramos, attended the Philippine Center for Islam and Democracy’s (PCID) celebration of the fifth anniversary of She Talks Peace.

Held at the University of the Philippines Bonifacio Global City, the event brought together peacebuilders and advocates committed to advancing the Women, Peace and Security agenda across the country.

Since its launch in 2021 by PCID President Dr. Amina Rasul-Bernardo, She Talks Peace has grown into a vital platform for women peacebuilders working to strengthen their communities. The anniversary gathering provided an opportunity to reflect on the initiative’s progress and recognize the indispensable role of women in building peaceful and resilient societies.

NEUST’s participation in the celebration further strengthens the University’s network as it develops its Diploma Program on Women, Peace and Security. The initiative aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to promote peace and gender equality in their communities. The University’s presence also underscores its commitment to peacebuilding, inclusive leadership, and the creation of educational pathways that prepare emerging leaders to address complex social challenges.

Higher education institutions have a responsibility to foster dialogue and collaboration by creating spaces where communities can work together toward lasting peace and sustainable development. As NEUST continues to develop the program, partnerships with organizations such as PCID will be essential in ensuring that its curriculum reflects real-world peacebuilding practices.
