Celebrating sportsmanship, teamwork, and healthy competition, the Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST) Laboratory High School (LHS) held its two-day Sportsfest 2026 on September 14–15, 2026, at the DAGRMH Gen. Tinio campus in Cabanatuan City.

 

In her message, LHS Student Government Adviser Mary Jane Espiritu encouraged the participants to uphold the values of sportsmanship and friendship while enjoying the competition. 

 

“Let us make this Sportsfest a celebration of sportsmanship, friendship and fun. To all the athletes and coaches, play hard, play fair, and always show respect to everyone,” Espiritu said.

 

LHS Principal Dr. Maria Fe Blas formally opened the event, emphasizing camaraderie, discipline, and fair play. 

 

“In the spirit of sportsmanship, camaraderie, discipline, and fair play, I now declare the NEUST Laboratory High School Sportsfest 2026 officially open,” Dr. Blas said. 

 

The first day featured the Day 1 the Mr. and Ms. Sportsfest 2026 competition, along with sporting events in tennis, volleyball, and basketball.

 

Meanwhile, the second day featured traditional Filipino games under Laro ng Lahi, including sipa, hula hoop, harang taga, jackstone, Chinese garter, and limbo rock. Competitions in chess, badminton, Mobile Legends, Call of Duty: Mobile (CODM), volleyball, and basketball were also held. 

 

Grade 10 Pink Pythons emerged as the overall champion with 415 points. Grade 8 Red Dragons placed second with 410 points, while Grade 12 Orange Phoenix secured third place with 395 points. 

The two-day celebration provided LHS students with opportunities to showcase their athletic abilities and talents, demonstrate teamwork, and strengthen camaraderie and school spirit through sports and recreational activities.
