The Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST) is undergoing a joint Regional Quality Assurance Team (RQAT) evaluation and monitoring visit led by the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office III (CHEDRO III) today, October 15, 2026.
The whole-day evaluation focuses on the university’s undergraduate and graduate teacher education programs and institutional services to assess compliance with CHED requirements and identify opportunities for continuous quality improvement.
In her message, NEUST Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Feliciana Jacoba assured the evaluation team of the university’s commitment to meeting the Commission’s standards and sustaining quality-assured academic programs.
“We wanted you to feel comfortable, and we are comfortable that we are dedicated to academic excellence and continuous quality improvement in everything that we do, that programs in the university are all quality assured,” she said.
Dr. Jacoba also emphasized the importance of evaluating teacher education programs, which prepare professionals, scholars, and future educators who will help shape the next generation of learners and leaders.
Meanwhile, NEUST President Dr. Rhodora Jugo, through a video message, reaffirmed the university’s continuing efforts to advance its teacher education programs through compliance with regulatory standards, accreditation, curriculum enhancement, and outcomes-based education.
“Our greatest accomplishment is not found on the certificates we receive or the recognition we earn; it is found in the lives we transformed through education,” Dr. Jugo said.
The University President further emphasized that the evaluation should not be viewed merely as a regulatory requirement but as an opportunity to affirm the university’s strengths, identify areas for improvement, and renew its commitment to delivering quality and relevant education.
College of Education Dean Dr. Jo Neil Peria and Graduate School Dean Dr. Nancy Joy Mangansat presented their respective college and graduate school officials, underscoring the university’s collective commitment to strengthening academic standards and continuously improving the quality of education offered by NEUST.
CHEDRO III Chief Education Program Specialist Dr. Bernard Pantonilla discussed the purpose of the visit, including the implementation of CHEDRO III Memorandum Circular Nos. 135 and 1055, series of 2025, and the validation of findings from the Second Congressional Commission on Education (EDCOM II) and the Teacher Education Council (TEC).
Joining Dr. Pantonilla are RQAT members, including Dr. Maria Krisvie Abigale Mendoza of Bulacan Agricultural State College; Dr. Elmer Calaguas, Dean of the College of Education at Pampanga State Agricultural University; Dr. Regidor Gaboy of Central Luzon State University; Education Supervisors II Dr. Arnold Damaso and Dr. Godfrey Mendoza; Jericho M. Manuel, CHEDRO III Education Program Specialist II; and CHED-uniFAST representatives Mr. Richmond Gopez and Mr. Mark Angelo Mendoza, among other members of the evaluation team.
A separate team also proceeded to Nampicuan, Nueva Ecija, for a site validation as part of the evaluation.
The evaluation involves a series of program and institutional assessments, including visits and interviews with concerned officials and personnel to examine compliance with applicable standards and requirements.
Following the assessment, the university will be given one week to address the evaluators’ findings and recommendations.
Through the joint monitoring and evaluation, NEUST continues to strengthen its commitment to academic excellence, accountability, and continuous quality improvement in teacher education, ensuring that its academic programs remain responsive to the needs of learners and the education sector.
