The Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST), through its Office of Student Affairs and Services (OSAS), in collaboration with the Unified Student Financial Assistance System for Tertiary Education (UniFAST), conducted an orientation on government financial assistance programs for eligible NEUST students on October 15, 2026, at NIETO Hall, Sumacab Campus.

Dr. Ma. Lourdes Quijano, Dean of OSAS, welcomed the UniFAST representatives and student scholars and emphasized the importance of financial assistance in making higher education more accessible.

She also encouraged the scholars to take their studies seriously, maximize educational opportunities, and demonstrate perseverance, diligence, and commitment to achieving their aspirations.

β€œYour financial circumstances may explain the challenges you face, but they do not define the future you deserve,” she said.

Meanwhile, Mark Angelo Mendoza, LPT, UniFAST Regional Coordinator, discussed the implementation of the Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) and Tulong Dunong Program (TDP), including their eligibility criteria, financial benefits, documentary requirements, and conditions that may lead to the termination of assistance.

He also explained the application process and addressed frequently asked questions concerning subsidy allocation, eligible year levels, graduating students, and applications involving siblings or relatives.

β€œThe program allows siblings or relatives to apply together, provided that they qualify under the guidelines and follow all the necessary procedures and submission of required documents,” he said.

The orientation aimed to strengthen students’ understanding of available government financial assistance programs, including the qualifications and responsibilities associated with receiving and maintaining these benefits.

Through the activity, NEUST OSAS and UniFAST reaffirmed their commitment to promoting equitable access to quality higher education by informing eligible students about financial assistance opportunities and the requirements for availing themselves of these programs.
