The Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST) showcased university-developed innovations in climate technology, workstation design, and food processing during the recording of an episode of Start Up Podcast PH on October 28, 2026, at the Data Center, Sumacab Campus.
Dr. Edgelly Vitug, head of the Innovation Management Office (IMO), joined the IMO team and three technology developers to promote the University’s research outputs to a wider audience and explore potential partnerships with industry stakeholders, customers, and investors.
Among the featured innovations was QarBulb Intelligence, a climate-tech startup developed by Engr. Emmanuel Borre of the College of Agriculture. The startup aims to generate value from agricultural waste by integrating farm-level data, emissions measurement, and carbon finance to quantify the climate benefits of sustainable agricultural practices.
Also featured was the Notable Ergonomic Universal Working Table, developed by Dr. Billie Jack Passion of the College of Industrial Technology. This innovative workstation combines the functions of a computer table, a drawing or drafting table, and an animation light box into a single unit.
The University’s food innovations were also highlighted, including Kape Ecja, Coffee Wine, and Tomato Prunes, developed by Dr. May Nerissa Santos of the Food Innovation Center. These products demonstrate the potential of coffee and tomato-based ingredients in developing innovative food products.
Hosted by Mr. Janri Boydon of the University of the Philippines, Start Up Podcast PH gives Filipino startups and innovators a platform to present their technologies, share their initiatives, and expand professional networks, including connections with incubators at state universities.
Through this initiative, NEUST continues to promote its homegrown innovations beyond the University by fostering strategic partnerships and exploring commercialization opportunities that can extend their applications in agriculture, workplace productivity, and community development.
The episode featuring NEUST’s homegrown innovations will be available on the official platforms of Start Up Podcast PH. Watch or listen to the episode through the podcast’s official social media pages and streaming channels.
