MANDATE AND FUNCTION

 Republic Act No. 8612 converted the Central Luzon Polytechnic College in to the Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology.  As provided in the charter, the mission of the university is stated as follows:

  1. To primarily provide advanced instruction, professional training in arts, science and technology, education and other related fields, undertake research and extension services, and provide progressive leadership in these areas; and,
  2. To offer graduate, undergraduate and short-term technical courses within areas of specialization and according to its capabilities, considering the needs of the province, the region and the country.

LEGAL BASIS

 June 7, 1929: educational institution was  established and was named Nueva Ecija Trade School (NETS) up to May 7, 1953

R.A. 845 (1953): the NETS became the Central Luzon School of Arts and Trades (CLSAT) lasting to Juen 17, 1964

R.A. 3998 (1964): CLSAT metamorphosed into Central Luzon Polytechnic College (CLPC)

House Bill No. 3794 (1995): converting the CLPC to Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST)

R.A. 8612 (1998) : act converting  CLPC to NEUST
